Risk of rain 2 commando gifs8/4/2023 Each character has a primary skill (your main attack) a secondary skill (your secondary attack, usually on a short cooldown) a utility skill (another activatable ability on cooldown, usually mobility-based) and a special skill (a more powerful ability on a larger cooldown, usually offensive in nature). For full details on how to unlock all of the characters (and items) in the game, check out our Risk of Rain 2 challenges guide.Įach character operates in a very different manner, thanks to their unique sets of skills. The other characters are unlocked by completing a specific challenge in-game for each of them. If you've just started playing, then you'll only have access to the first character: the Commando. It should be an unlockable for nostalgia, not the default starter weapon.Risk of Rain 2 characters & skills overviewĮach time you begin a new run in Risk of Rain 2, you'll be prompted to select your character, or "survivor". Things like Phase Blast simply don't translate well to 3d. His skillset hasn't changed leaving his only useful default ability his r because you can hit and stun multiple targets with it and it does more damage than his m1. The major issue with the default abilities is that they're the same ones from the first game, which was 2d. And give him an alternate M1 that doesn't suck ♥♥♥♥. Buff his r and m2 and switch them for the alternate abilities. This isn't an RPG where you get upgrade points for your skills, have more than just 4 skills, constantly working on builds and unlocking new skills at random level intervals. I don't think you should have to unlock some skills to make a character viable to play. Read the rest of my post, I flat out said Huntress is the least damaging character. And she doesn't have to square up as much. His burst damage has been partially fixed if you play risky with shotties at least, but even a character like Huntress can slay bosses faster because her R pulls more than 600% damage. Proc chance doesn't really help, especially considering the main strategy for monsoon is "only take what you need to survive and get to stage 4 asap". The damage fall-off is pretty extreme, too. not-op-at-all-I-swear pulls that much a second with his turrets alone, so there's definitely still room for improvement. it's not the 90% a shot and 4 shots a second? 360% DPS? There's worse out there. Originally posted by Jеnkеm Junkiе:Everyone talks about the shotgun but is nobody going to talk about how awful his m1 is? That's the only skill that doesn't have a cooldown and it's your main means of attack. That and his burst damage skills (at least his r early on) need some help. He pretty much needs items to step in and deal with multiple targets for him. A lot of people can make do, but even when I'm doing well as Commando there's a huge swarthe of enemies trailing behind me that I can't be bothered to focus on instead of the boss. I think the main problem with his kit is a huge lack of crowd control or mobbing skills.Įveryone else seems to have at least something.
